  • Issuer

    is the entity which issues the credential, Issues credentials based on data assertion about the subject (either individual or a company) and send those credentials to the holders Issuers are typically businesses or public sector entities, who are considered authoritative sources of particular data attributes.

  • Holder

    is the credentials owners which stores their credentials in their digital wallet, control which credentials are going to be shared(Selective Disclosure) and with whom

  • Relying Party

    also known as Verifier is the entity which verifies the credentials authenticity, integrity and validity. Verifier could be anyone(individual or organisation) which are not receiving any information from the Issuer directly, but acquires the trustworthiness from trust registries. Trust registries are entities acting as sources of truth in which all parties of the ecosystem can trust. In most cases trust registries consists of several registries as Trusted Issuer Registry, Trusted Verifier Registry, DID registry etc
